Double Exposed Portraits

Portrait photography is really just a photo of someones face. But more in depth it is a photo of someones face that captures their personality, mood, and expression. Portrait photography can relate to profile view because the focal point in each photo is the persons face. Also a persons feelings can be captured through a profile. It can relate to silhouetting because they both can be shot on only one side of the face.

Double exposures are created in photoshop by first loading all of the photos into a stack. You do this by going to File>Scripts>Load files into stack. When the tab pops up go to browse, then find your photos and press OK. Then use the dodge tool to separate your self from the background. Next, resize the image to 8.5 x 11". After that, its time to get creative. Fist double click each layer and change it to screen mode. Last go to image>new adjustment layer, then explore the different effects until its ends up how you want it.

The two symbols I chose were a wave and a chicken. I chose the wave because I like to go to the beach with my gopro and take photos of waves. I decided to put the chicken because raising chickens is something I enjoy doing. I also chose these photos because I liked how the wave was in my head and the chicken was in my neck. I think they worked really well. Something I could improve is the line right above my ear because of the eraser tool. Another think I could improve on is the cut out with the dodge tool especially by my hair
