Our Animation Story

Each team needed to pick one persons story. Our team chose to do a story about sophia and how she faces her fears. Our focus statement is "sophia faces fear" which is pretty self explanatory and shows how she faces her fears. So the story starts off with sophia reading the harry potter book then she goes into a dream which she faces her fears and wakes up unharmed at the end. Although it is pretty difficult to figure out what are focus statement is trying to show, I hope it somewhat makes sense to the audience.

When people watch our animation they will learn that sometimes you need to face your fears even when you don't want to. This will be showed because is shows and says that Sophia will face her biggest fears and she is scared but still does it. Also at the end sophia is given a trophy which shows that if you face your fears you can receive a reward. Me and my team expect to make an impact on people that are afraid to face their fears.

As a team we faces many struggles and problems. At first out team work was going pretty good, we could all agree on something, work together, and complete simple tasks together as a team. Then when we started to film things started off pretty good until we started to get confused on what scenes each other were doing and who should to what. Also everybody thought their idea was the best and right idea even though everybody's idea couldn't be right, right? I think out team struggled because we had 5 people on our team instead of 4 like all the other teams. All I can say is that i'm happy its over and that our finished product turned out alright.

ANIMATION OUTTAKES

My teammates are Ashley, Sophia, kyla, And Micah. Our job is/was to create a real problem animation with unrealistic movements. Some interesting facts about Ashley is that she cheers for the kapa'a eagles and She wants to be a coach when she grows up. Some facts about Sophia is that she likes to play the piano and also volleyball. Kyla likes school and likes to learn new things.

stop-motion animation is the Process of taking multiple images of and object  which is unable to move on its own to look as if it is moving by itself. Or making a human or animal move in unrealistic ways. Many images are needed depending on the amount of frames per second (fps) which your animation is created with. the more images per second the smoother and more clear your animation will be.

The story we are telling is "sophia faces fear". In our story Sophia dreams about being in the harry potter movie/book. In our animation she faces her fears and completed many tasks. Her Challenge was to do scary things that she did not want to do. you should care because it teaches you to face your fears even when you really don't want to. Although it  really make sense of what the lesson of our story is I hope it is easy to understand after it is all tied together.

Typography Images

Typography is the style and appearance of printed matter. Typography can be either a portrait of someone or an object with a chunk of text placed over it. In our case were using images of people. The text usually shows the persons feelings, but can also represent other things such as their traits, interests, and hobbies. Typography can be used with images to make a lasting impact by making the image memorable.

The biggest challenge during this project so far was understanding how to add the gradient overlay. to overcome the issue I asked for help from Mr. Sanderls helpers and they couldn't seem to fix the problem as well. So I explored through the blend modes and I finally found One that showed the gradient overlay as well as the text. That blend mode was subtract btw. Also I couldn't seen to figure how to create my text brush. So I watched and re-watched the tutorial until I could figure it out

My three examples are of Steve jobs, Mr. Mchugh and Me. What makes each of them different is that they are all done in different methods. Although they are each done using photoshop there were 3 different tutorials we followed. Also they are all of course portraits of different people. My favorite one would have to be the one of Mr. Mchugh, mostly because I like the method and how the text is added to the photo. Here are the links to the other tutorials 1 & 3.

Double Exposed Portraits

Portrait photography is really just a photo of someones face. But more in depth it is a photo of someones face that captures their personality, mood, and expression. Portrait photography can relate to profile view because the focal point in each photo is the persons face. Also a persons feelings can be captured through a profile. It can relate to silhouetting because they both can be shot on only one side of the face.

Double exposures are created in photoshop by first loading all of the photos into a stack. You do this by going to File>Scripts>Load files into stack. When the tab pops up go to browse, then find your photos and press OK. Then use the dodge tool to separate your self from the background. Next, resize the image to 8.5 x 11". After that, its time to get creative. Fist double click each layer and change it to screen mode. Last go to image>new adjustment layer, then explore the different effects until its ends up how you want it.

The two symbols I chose were a wave and a chicken. I chose the wave because I like to go to the beach with my gopro and take photos of waves. I decided to put the chicken because raising chickens is something I enjoy doing. I also chose these photos because I liked how the wave was in my head and the chicken was in my neck. I think they worked really well. Something I could improve is the line right above my ear because of the eraser tool. Another think I could improve on is the cut out with the dodge tool especially by my hair

HDR Photography

HDR Photography or "High Dynamic Range" it is the process of taking multiple images at different exposure levels and blending them together to make the photo look like something your eye would see. You can use HDR to highlight the best parts of an image. In HDR you want to include aYou can also use it to make boring photos less boring and make them pop. I like HDR because it really helps regular old photos more creative and detailed. What I don't like about HDR is that it takes a while to take all the photos then edit them in photoshop

There is 6 easy steps to make HDR photo. Step 1: Change the exposure to the darkest setting then take a photo, then take 6 other photos at brighter exposers. Step 2: Import photos & organize them. Step 3: Open photos in go adobe photoshop. Step 4: File>Automate > Merge to HDR Pro.Step 5: Make the photo More creative using the tools to your right. Step 6: REPEAT! Its as easy as that to get amazing HDR photos. The difference between automatic HDR is that only 3 photos are taken, also the camera does all the work.

In the Landscape photo I was trying to get the fence, pasture, and mountains all in one shot. Also I was attempting to make the horizon line straight  but at the angle I was taking the photo there was no way I would be able to get it perfectly straight. Also I was attempting to get rule of third and it didn't really work out as I would have liked it to. In the Experiment I really wanted my subject (my dad) to hold still  and he did a really good job at that so thats a thumbs up. I also wanted to get him within rule of thirds but it still was a little off. And last but not least I wanted my photo to have good lighting so I faced my back to the sun and made him face the sun, and I think that plan worked out pretty good.

Movie Trailer Critique

Our latest G.T project was to make a movie trailer, our job was to plan it out, film and edit it to make it look like a real movie trailer. My teammates were Mele, Kyla, and Kacie they were good teammates because they all contributed a fair amount into our project. Our trailer plan document was definitely one of the hardest parts of our project because we had to make all the scenes make sense and fit together well. I contributed to our project by Filming the A-roll, and reading the voice acting script. Personally I feel that this was a good project because it really helped us to learn to work with other people, and it also helped us to practice editing in Final Cut Pro.

The project requirements were tricky to get into our project and to get it to still make sense. The requirements that we needed to include was at least 1.5 minutes to 2.5 minutes, 5 scenes, a voice acting script, dialogue, foley, text layovers, and our teams best movie poster. I feel we successfully included each and every requirement into our project. To make sure they were all of the requirements were included we went through the list of requirements multiple times to make sure they were all included. Also we watched our trailer over and over again.

I Really enjoyed the class critique because it let us vote for what trailer we liked the best. Also in the class critique is showed what the class thought of our trailer. Personally I agree with the results because well I thought ours was pretty cool but yet there was other trailers that were better than ours .I learned that it Can be pretty difficult to work with others. I also learned That animation can be pretty difficult when trying to make a movie trailer.

Movie Poster Promo

The Main Character in my movie poster is sir victor. He is the main character because he is the villain our movie who wants to steal the large oak tree in his neighbors yard. Although sir victor may look like he is flying he's actually supposed to be sort of laughing because his plan is amazing! The setting sir victor is in is in front of an oak tree. in conclusion thats all the details about the characters in my poster.

The title of our movie is "sir victors dream" well because it about a dude having a dream. I like how the text in my title kind of somewhat goes backwards and has a sort of stretched effect. The other text included in my poster is the characters and reviews. kerning is an effect you can make on text and how far each of the letters are spaced apart from each other. You could use the kerning effect to make your text fit in a spot. You could also use it if you wanted to change the look of your text and make it look stretched.

The layer effects and filters I used in my poster actually made a huge impact on the finished product. They helped make my poster look more professional and of course really awesome. The Layer effects I used were Drop Shadow, Stroke, and bevel and emboss. The effects helped make my text pop off the page and made my text look amazing. The filter I used was called Distortion it made my poster look more rocky and sort of rough. And thats how the layer effects made an impact on my poster.
